(The education systems in USA are really awesome. It's not only because they have excellent edu. system, but also because they show high respect and love on their education industry. It's ture that they also rank the universities from top to down, yet, even though the ones who rank behind are dedicated to the real advanced education with strict public supervision.)
(It's a tough deal to study in USA. Tons of assignments may be just a piece of cake. The challenge is you have to input your real thoughts and research avoiding plagiarism. For instance, it's forbidden to write a paper by copying the articles from internet directly here. Professors here hate plagiarism, and some anti-plagiarism softwares have been developed to avoid the cheating and plagiarism. We must make a clear reference using APA format if we cite other's output. After finishing the paper, you have to upload it to turnitin.com, which will tell your professor the proportions of real input, citation and plagiarism on your paper. If you are unluckily found you plagirized someone's info. on your paper, you will receive strict punishments, from "Expelled from course" to "Kicked out of school".)
(There are two kinds of Master Degree here: one is Research-focused, such as Master of Medicine; the other one is Practice-focused, such as Master of Business Administration. Basically, you should have work experience before applying for MBA cause most of the courses of MBA are designed only for the students with work experience. Currently I am pursuing my MBA degree after working for Wal-Mart China Home Office and Bauing Group, which make me better understand in the classes. I found I am almost the junior one among 17 students since most of them are managers or Directors from different industries. However, it's really amazing to study with them cause you can learn much from their sharings, simultaneously, it's a nice opportunity to extend your network.)
(As you may know, students are the protagonist while professors are just the guiders. In the first class, every student will get one syllabus which tells you clearly about the courses arrangement, rules of the class, assignments and due time, etc. With the syllabus, everyone, including the professor, should play the game under the rules. For example, if the syllabus says we will discuss Chapter 2 next week, you'd beeter to get prepared well before Chater 2 beginning, because the coming discussion will be pretty fierce and wonderful. You should share your ideas in the class instead of keeping silence. Moreover, you must hand in the assignments on time cause the professors will never remind you again after the first class, and the late turn-it-in won't be acceptabe.)
(Personally, I prefer the case study and group presentations in the classes since I am crazy for team work. Most importantly, you can learn a lot from your teammates with different gender, age, and race. Taking our previous case study for an example, two of my teammates, one is the local American, the other one is a lady from Central American. It was fantastic to cooperate with them. At the beginning, we had some conflicts on the topic since we had some difference of thinking. However, we kept collective and positive all the time to get the job done well. And we became good friends at the end.)
(In conclusion, all I introduced above are just the external factors. I DO believe you CAN do a GREAT job with your sincere dedication under correct methods, no matter you are in China or in the United States.) |
