Within the short span of my life, I hardly found anyone perfect. Then, I thought to myself, why shouldn’t I try to be the FIRST, the first perfect humanbeing? But this little secret ambition of mine soon proved to be unattainable. From then on, I decided to find instead the merits of every individual around me.
Once, I found an obviously poor fellow persuing a thief (or robber, you might call him) who was running away with a lady’s handbag. I wrote down on my notebook: Brave. One day on a bus, I noticed a handsom young man giving his seat to an elderly man, and a beautiful young lady giving hers to a mother carrying her little one. I hence wrote down on my notebook: Helpful, Kind; still another occasion, one of my fellow students helped a grandfather figure crossing a road, and the BIG BIG smile on her face when the “grandpa” thanked her, I wrote down: Beautiful!…years have gone, I still haven’t found a single perfect man. But I don’t feel sad anymore, because I gradually realized that there is no such a thing called perfect person.
Years later, I looked at my notebook once more. I found these words popping up in front of my eyes one after another. I smiled, heartfeltly! because I finally found a perfect person, that is: all people combined, a single MAN. Yes! After I put all the words together, it turned out to be a really perfect person: kind, helpful, brave, beautiful…
Now, I never try to find out a perfect person anymore, because I discovered that imperfection is also very beautiful. Everyone is imperfect. But if we work together, we will be the perfect one! When we give our heart to others, it means: love. Only love is perfect. If everyone is perfect, for that we won’t need others anymore. Yeah, maybe you think you are imperfect, but you needn’t to be worried, because no one can be perfect. I’m brave but not necessarily helpful; you aren’t brave enough, but very helpful in your own way. For that, we can be friends: you show me how to be more helpful, and I teach you how to be more brave…
The world is becoming more beautiful because of our imperfection!
